It's time again for our monthly ROLL CALL! As we do every month at Raw Food Rehab, we put up a Main Forum post to get a reading on who is still with us here at the Hab. So even if you aren't that active, or just one of the quiet ones, now is the time to let us know you are paying attention!
Raw Food Celebrity, Mimi Kirk, is the feature of this month's roll call. In case you aren't familiar with Mimi, she is the mother to four children, 2 girls and 2 boys and has 7 grandchildren. She grew up in Hollywood California, was married at 17 and widowed at 29. Mimi has been a vegetarian and vegan for the better part of 40 years and has lead an amazingly interesting, fantastic life. You will learn many fascinating stories in her gorgeous, newly released book LIVE RAW.
Since winning the title of the “Sexiest Vegetarian over 50,″ many people have been asking Mimi to share her secrets on health and longevity. Born on September 23, 1938, Mimi is now 72. When asked about her age, she shares, "Feeling like you’re in your 20′s at 72, is quite an amazing thing. I accredit this youthful look and spirit not only to my attitude, but to my way of eating which is a raw vegan – the living foods lifestyle. Writing a book seemed like the perfect opportunity to share my life and possibly help others to transition into eating a plant based raw food diet."
Here is a recent video of Mimi making a Sprouted Wild Rice Tabbouleh (YUM). In the video, she talks a bit more about her book and about the very special gift she is sending when you order your copy right now:
Mimi has generously offered Raw Food Rehab 2 free copies of LIVE RAW to offer as our prizes for our mid-May roll call - THANK YOU, MIMI!
All you need to do is enter your name and where you are from in the comments below. Extra props to those who want to tell us why they love to win a copy of Mimi's new book. I will be drawing the names of our two lucky winner on a video next Friday - May 20th!
(Please be sure to not follow this discussion by clicking the "Stop Following" option once you have signed in so you won't receive hundreds of emails from other members who are signing into this thread after you.)
I'm alive and well in Kansas City, Missouri. Have been extremely busy and not very active here. Too late for the drawing but Mimi looks unbelievably incredible. What a roll model! I will definitely get her book.
