Kidney Supporting Green Juice with Karen, Haylee & Penni

Today Haylee Otto and I are with Karen McCarville in the kitchen, making a kidney cleansing & supporting green juice for you!

Your kidney responsibilities include playing a central role in the urinary system, balancing salts, stimulating red blood cell production and stabilizing your blood pressure. When you kidneys malfunction, kidney failure can develop in response to factors such as toxin accumulation. Adjusting your diet to include kidney friendly foods can help support healthy kidney functions.

Vegetables and fruits enable your kidneys to function properly while providing them with antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and other nutrients, notes the National Kidney Foundation. These nutrients are beneficial in defending your body against free radicals and strengthening immune system functions to ward off kidney disease. Vegetables and fruits that support kidney functions include tomatoes, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, lemons/limes, apples, asparagus, carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers and leafy greens.

ENJOY!

Kidney Supporting Green Juice

1 bunch of asparagus

A refreshing drink!

I really DIG lemons in everything right now!

Just a note to add. Celery is really high in Sodium so I`d limit it a bit more in this drink especially for people with diabetes. Parsley is one of the only foods that highly benefits kidneys so I`d add a whole bunch of parsley to that drink. (smile). My kidneys love parsley a whole lot and are still functioning thru my chronic disease of 51 yrs.

wonderful - can't wait to try it, thanks!

This looks great!  I have  health coaching client with significant kidney issues!  Thanks.

Thanks for the little pearl about parsley, Dianne.  My client with the significant kidney issues is craving celery....can't get enough of it.  What's that about.  Otherwise, her diet is very low quality.

I would think if she`s craving celery, her adrenals are stressed causing a dumping of the electrolytes which will increase the craving.  My sister had a multi organ shutdown (pancreas islets of langerhan and adrenals). She now exists on an insulin pump and taking steroids daily which isn`t pleasant.  She ate tablespoons of salt before she was admitted to the hospital.

Some other things she may be interested in are color therapy, meditation, Sunrider vegetarian foods or Dr. Berg`s diet plan and foods.  Adrenal is red, pancreas is yellow so wearing or having colour energy baths with those colors  will help. Kidney patients tend to wear black or dark colours.  Chakra levels and energy to the organs can be improved with meditation and chanting. See Divine Healing Hands by Dr. & Masteer Zhi Gang Sha.  Sunrider foods are conc. approx 9 x for the basic 3. The herbs will work on the earth, wind, fire, etc. element which is out of balance such as kidneys for example. I know of many people who have regained vision, kidney function, liver function etc by using these foods in their diets. Calli Tea is great to remove cravings from people with addictions.

Dr. Berg has developed an excellent program and diet using some of his own concoctions for people who are unable to lose weight and divides them into 4 categories determined by their body type. Adrenals is one body type. The book adrenal fatigue also has a great program with ashwaganda under the tongue which goes directly to the adrenal organ and several other vitamins and minerals to aid recovery. Adrenals are highly affected by stress so increase B vitamins and reduce stress levels one way or another.  I`ve just found an oceanic experience wellness where you float in a tank with 800 lbs of epsom salts for 90 mins.  This pursuit of pure nothingness removes enviromental factors that stress the body allowing the body to heal itself and become more creative and healthy.  Also try daily affirmations such as `Every single cell in my life is designed to heal, regenerate and be whole`.  This is just a few things you can try. Dr. Joe Dispensa and numerous others are teaching us to change our thinking patterns to heal ourselves.  Self hypnosis daily can make a person with diabetes have normal sugars and normal blood pressures. That`s worth learning how to do. I have a friend with diabetes in Vancouver who does this and regained his eyesight and kidneys by walking 10 miles daily and drinking alkaline ionized waters. Only good lies before him. ( smile)

Hope this helps your friend find a pathway to living. Blessings.

I have just recently gone through a round of antibiotics and pain killers due to a horrific UTI. I can't even elaborate on the pain and misery I was dealing with. This still after being on my prescriptions. I was losing it which led to me trying the Kidney Supporting Green Juice. I omitted the celery (not a fan of celery) and ladies I thank you for sharing this recipe. It has been such an improvement. Thanks again for the share.

So happy to hear this report!! Great news that you're feeling much better!

I have never juiced asparagus...this looks like it will be amazing!

Wow!  I never thought of using asparagus for juice.  It's on my list.  I juiced an eggplant from my garden recently just to see what it would be like, even though I thought it may not be good for you...too much potassium maybe.  It was surprisingly sweet.

It breaks my heart to juice asperagus! lol  I love it so much as is.  I eat it lots because I grow it.  I will try it--maybe with half a bunch!
