No rigid rules, labels or dogmas.... just REAL food, for your body, mind & soul!

Earlier this week I shared a short review of Brendan Brazier's newly released book, Thrive Foods. So.....for today's episode of Foodie Friday, since we're on Day 24 of our 30 Days of Living on Liquids, I decided it would be ideal to make a couple of interesting new drinks from the book.  To check out the review, click here.

Sasha Inchi Milk (the chocolate variation)

2 1/2 cups water

1 1/2 cups soaked sasha inchi seeds

3 large dates, (fresh, or soaked dried, pitted)

2 tablespoons carob powder or cacao powder

In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth.

Coconut, Mango, Yellow Curry Smoothie - with "Penni-fications"

1/2 cup frozen mango

1 orange, juiced

1/2 teaspoon lime juice

1/8 teaspoon yellow curry powder

2 teaspoons blue agave (or sweetener of your choice)

1/4 cup rice milk (I used 1/4 cup hemp seeds)

2 ounces organic pure mango juice (I omitted this)

1/3 cup coconut water (I used 3/4 cup)

In a blender, combine all ingredients until smooth.

In today's video we're also congratulating the two winner's of Philip McCluskey's newly released book with Natalia KW - Raw Food Juice Bar!   Big props to Philip for his generous donation!!

Penni, I am going to have to try the Sasha Inchi Milk, that looks delish!
congrats on day 24 - you are fantastic!!! I'll be super interested to hear about how you transition back into regular eating. That's always where I get tripped up. I'll have a great 3-7 day juice feast, and then I jump back into eating too much too quickly. Would love some perspective on that!

Congrats to our Winners!!! : )

I am so enjoying these JUICY Food Fridays!!!!

Congrats winners. I also liked the Pennifications of the recipe LOL.

oh and I've never heard of sasha inchi before - totally going to have to find them now!
Very interesting!
Amazon carries the Savi Sasha Inchi seeds.  I didn't see them in Penni's Picks.  Is there someway they can be added?

oh Penni you are so very cute - Mother's Milk! I'll be giving this one a whirl.

blessings to you!!

Woo Hoo! I'm right there with you on day 24. I may go longer, I'm feeling soooo good.

Aren't you cute with your glasses!!!

And excellent about how to break a fast..I hope you will go into detail more about this as many folks will not do it the proper way?

I have never heard of the Sasha Inchi seed - interesting! I will definitely have to check them out!

LOVE these foodie fridays!

CONGRADS to the winners.

Wait? Mother's Milk?

just say that??? LOL!!!

Thanks for the tip about breaking fast with smoothies, I've never done that before. Think I will try it this time.  The recipes look amazing and I love the pennifications. Haven't heard of the sasha inchi, gotta love the tryptophan! How about cookies with the pulp?  Would love to have a copy of the book!!  Thanks for showing us some unusual new drinks!  Congratulations to the winners

I want to clarify that we have a NUMBER of members who are doing liquids only or juice feasting - I broke my liquids only last weeks so I could do all the recipe writing and tasting for our final 11 week Initiative - but I've been keeping
things primarily liquid!  Moving more slowly back into solids is a challenge for many people.  The full protocol of how to correctly break a juice fast/feast is covered in detail at JuiceFeasting.com
