This week on RFR, our focus has been on getting hydrated. The following recipes were inspired by drinks I enjoyed while I was at 105degrees....
2 cups almond milk
1 ripe banana
1/4 cayenne pepper (or a pinch of cayenne powder)
Blend all ingredients in a blender and garnish with cacao nibs.
My Emerald Bali
1 cup almond milk
1/2 cup lemongrass water (see video)
1/2 cup frozen mango
handful fresh spinach
1 teaspoon raw agave nectar
1/4 thai chili (or pinch of cayenne pepper)
1 teaspoon spirulina or blue green algae powder
shaved coconut, for garnish
Combine ingredients, except the shaved coconut, in a blender until completely smooth. Top with a bit of coconut flakes for presentation.
4 medium ripe tomatoes
1 red bell pepper, seeded
1 lime, juiced
2 cloves garlic
6 + leaves of romaine
1 jalapeño, seeded
Finish with a pinch of Himalayan sea salt & a splash of apple cider vinegar
Chop and put all ingredients into a blender and combine until smooth. Add the sea salt & cider vinegar, if desired. Serve as a blended soup or strain to drink as a juice.
