Dara's Decadent Cheesy Kale Chips
2 -3 bunches leafy kale, stemmed
4 cups cashews, soaked 2 hours
4 tablespoons nutritional yeast
3 teaspoons onion powder
2 - 3 teaspoons turmeric
1 teaspoon garlic powder
5 teaspoons sea salt
2 cups water
1 cup cold pressed organic olive oil

Place the kale into a large mixing bowl, set aside. Combine all other ingredients in a blender until smooth (follow Dara's exact instructions in the video). Pour the cheesy mixture over the kale and gently massage until well coated. Finish with a dusting of nutritional yeast if desired. Lay the kale chips onto non-stick lined dehydrator trays and put in at 115degree F for 12+ hours, flipping the chips once mid-way through drying.

If you do not have a dehydrator, place the coated kale onto cookie trays lined with parchment paper and set your oven on the lowest temperature setting, leaving the door ajar. Slow bake until crispy.

ENJOY!

Hi - Penni here : )

I LOVE the following clip! All of these fabulous boys (and Dara) will be in the movie I'm working on. I promise you're going to love it!

I LOVE Kale Chips!!!!
I've been meaning to make these. I had a raw food class over a year ago and we made the cheesy kale chips. They were delicious and I don't normally care for Kale. Also the sauce was good enough to eat as a salad dressing if you can't wait for them to dehydrate.
I'm with Susan ... I LOVE Kale Chips!
omg this sounds like such a delicous kale chip recipe i will havta try it one of these days :)
good point on the parchment paper Penni! if these do last more than five minutes, put them in a glass container and enjoy as needed. they will last longer in fridge, but really, they won't last ;)
yum.
These look delicious!  This is similar to a recipe I use, but with different seasonings.  I will have to try it for sure, because even my boys love kale chips!  Thanks Penni and Dara!  :)
Thanks, Penni.  I look forward to Foodie Fridays!
I buy my nutritional yeast at Whole Foods, but I am pretty sure any health food store would have it.

I bought these at Inspiral in London and LOVED EM!!!  So I will definitely try this is looks so easy.    Where do we get the yeast at a wholefoods store?  Tks
Yummy! Mine never make it out of the dehydrator! I'm a snack monster when it comes to kale chips!

You can get nutritional yeast at most health food stores or on-line. Braggs makes one and Red Star is my favorite.

One of my favorite things in the whole wide world! Unfortunately, they're pretty much gone before they've finished drying - ha ha! I'm going to have to try this next recipe next time I make kale chips. Thanks for sharing!
