Howdy Cleanse Posse!
As you likely know, we officially began our 28 Day Total Reset Cleanse nearly one week ago! Some of us are following the full 28 Day protocol outlined in Raw Food Cleanse, and others have embarked on the 3, 7, or 14 Day Cleanse options. There are also many others who are drinking juices and smoothies as meal replacements and others who are eating an all raw diet. Regardless of how you are choosing to approach this month of cleansing, please feel free to get involved in this discussion.
This thread is the perfect place to let us know how you're doing and to share any tips or ideas that you may have discovered over the past week that might be helpful to your fellow posse members. Also, this is a great place to ask questions - if you have them... So this is THE space to chat about our cleansing experience.

Permalink Reply by Cici Cummins on February 6, 2011 at 5:18pm Yes, I've been onboard and it's been great! I've been doing my own thing with a juice fast the first day and all raw veggie only (no oils) the 2nd day and then raw foods, low oil and avoiding late dinners while doing yoga often ...
The all raw has been great and I did add some quinoa yesterday and today but it was part of a budget restraint and fallback safe food. I've really been detoxifying though even with the small addition of moderate cooked grain. I think it's because of the cleanse and simple, moderate portions and also all the great micronutrients I get in the morning on an empty stomach before I even eat anything.
I do water with adya clarity in the morning then have pine pollen pwdr and royal jelly pwdr. I wait 15-30 min or more then try and have a fresh green juice. After that it's a little black coffee actually and then I have either a superfood smoothie or a cucumber salad w/Nori and/or other vegetable salad.
It's fun knowing you all are doing a cleanse as well. It keeps me focused, thinking about the group doing their cleanse. I think about it during the day when I'm deciding what my next feeding should be.
I made a neat dessert last night with dates blended smooth in a little water w/lecithin and cinnamon, then dolloped in a bowl. I freshly ground raw almonds fine, as a sort of "cobbler" and topped my date dollop with that. I sprinkled a tad of sea salt as an afterthought then drops of vanilla creme stevia and a drizzle of agave. It was decadent but simple and clean.
I did lose 4 lbs since the beginning of the Initiative this time. I'm still just barely getting back to my start point though after an odd setback over the fall/early winter.
Permalink Reply by Jackie Van Dam on February 6, 2011 at 5:56pm What attracted me to Ormus Greens was that they were grown in Volcanic, mineral rich soil that contains Platinum,Gold, Silver and Nano Minerals and that it was electrically charged....so...I bought some....when I first tried it, I was hugely impressed! The taste was awesome....smooth, fresh, minty green goodness :) The immediate feeling after consuming it was also very impressive to me. I felt clearer, alert, energized and very present in my body. Over the years, I have tried many green drinks and even made my own green juices and I have never had a similar experience to Ormus greens. You know when you find a product that you really resonate with and it seems like it was made just for your body? Well, Ormus greens is like that for me.
Warmly, Jenn

The link to the video I sent didn't seem to get included in my last comment about Ormus Greens so I'll try again. Here is The Raw Food World's video on Ormus Greens.

Blueberry is very challenging & gelatinousness when juicing, but always delicious!

Permalink Reply by Corinne Batt-Rawden on February 6, 2011 at 6:56pm My first week on the Feb Cleanse has been good, i'm enjoying the routine of my food.
With out fail each morning i have woken and made a litre of lemon water. As i drink this i plan my next treat, a green juice.
Today i had celery, cucumber, green apple, spinach and ginger.
I am loving the large colourful salads, i've sprouted some lentils, grated beetroot, grated carrot, rocket, lettus, raw olives, apple cider vinegar, garlic and a drizzle of cold pressed oil or avocado and lemon juice. and a pinch of pink salt if i feel like it.
Then i usually eat some fruit or carrots in the arvo, whatever i can eat on the run, when home a juice or salad. This is the aim for each day.
Yummo. I've been feeling good generally and being quite productive. I was introduced to raw, 10 months ago, and have lost 30.8 pounds which i lost early on during a juice feast but my added raw reportoire has enabled me to keep it off.
During this week i have gone off track some days, usually in the evening, but one thing that keeps me positive is, 'Make the next bite raw'. and when i wake the next morning, i get up indulge in my morning lemon juice ritual without guilt and with joy as i am doing really well, pats on the back go along way.
Big pats to all of you for every morsel of raw.

Permalink Reply by henrietta zielinski on February 6, 2011 at 8:17pm Hi Penni and cleansers. I've been doing pretty well with the juicing this passed week. Was totally juicing for the week except yesterday lunch with mom so broke down and had a nice little salad. Mostly spinach, carrots, beets, cucumbers and orange juice for the dressing, topped with minced parsley and mint. It was good but felt a wee bit guilty. Today I had a soup at the house before I went to make lunch for mom. She's 90 years old and I'm her only caregiver so thought I'd "eat" at home and just sip tea while visiting with her. Worked pretty well. Broke down and had a banana to hold me over til dinner. For dinner tonight was two nice warming cups of tea with my almond mylk and the remains of the juices I've prepared for tomorrow. It was a mix match in the tummy but didn't want to waste any and once the jars were full there was about two or three sipfuls left. These are my juices for tomorrow. The recipes are from the web at a site called JuiceDetoxRecipes.com. If you haven't look at the site, interest recipes that you wouldn't taste good but they do. The are for the most part very simple using 4-5 ingredients and fill a 20 oz Mason jar nicely.
1. 2 beets
1 grapefruit (I used pink)
2-3 stalks celery
2. 4-6 carrots
3 good handfuls of spinach
handful of parsley
2-3 stalks celery
3. 1 good sized cucumber (orangic you can keep the peel, otherwise peel)
2 large apples (I used granny smith)
2-3 springs of mint
1/2" of ginger
All of the above were put through my Hurom and they were all tasty. 1. tastes exotic but is really good. Surprising.
Other sources I've been using for juice ideas are Penni's Book, Kristen Suzanne's Easy Raw Vegan Smoothies, Juices, Elixirs and Drinks. If you dont have this book you can easily and quickly get it as an e-book on her web page. The Complete Book of Juicing by Michael T Murray is very informative with nutients listed for most vegetables and fruits you can think of and he also provides information for which juice is useful to help with immune functions, weight loss and disease related problems. There is a newer edition out but this was my first jucing book purcashed years ago and is still a favorite. The other source that I turn to is the updated version (second edition) of the Juicing Bible by Pat Crocker. It too, like the Murray book, has great information and ideas for juices. These are the main sources for me but I also like to experiment.
I like to start my mornings with a lemon, water and cayene drink before heading out to the gym. I'm a runner and the last week and this are a little challenging for out door running. But have been using this time for weights and cross-training. I don't like the treadmill...it's just not what running is for me.
Lastly, in the evening if I have any juice left from the day, I'll finish that and top it off with Penni's Yerba Latte. (so good)
So hope someone finds this useful and gives my odd little juices from above a try. Thanks and happy juicing, blending and sipping. From snow covered Chicago, I send you all good cheer and good health.
