This is a video that I made last year where I share the creating of my vision book. Hopefully some of my thoughts and ideas will stir something in you today!

Be Unreasonable

“Everything you want should be yours: the type of work you want; the relationships you need; the social, mental, and aesthetic stimulation that will make you happy and fulfilled; the money you require for the lifestyle that is appropriate to you; and any requirement that you may (or may not) have for achievement or service to others. If you don’t aim for it all, you’ll never get it all. To aim for it requires that you know what you want.” ~ Richard Koch from The 80/20 Principle

That’s genius. It comes from Chapter 11: “You Can Always Get What You Want” which may just win best chapter title ever. :) So, Rule #1 in creating your ideal life is simple: We need to know what we want. (It also helps to be unreasonable. As per George Bernard Shaw: “The reasonable man adapts himself to the world. The unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”)

Here are some powerful questions to help you gain more clarity on your vision:

What’s your ideal?
What do you absolutely LOVE to do?
What comes to you effortlessly?
With whom would you love to spend your time?
What would you be doing throughout the day?
How much would you make?
Where would you live?
Would you be able to hike or meditate or sit in your sauna whenever you want or would you have a boss telling you what you can do when?


Let your thoughts flow along these lines. Now is the time to start writing in your journal or when you will create an amazing vision board. Seriously. We need to quit putting stuff like this off, because we rarely get around to it “later”!

When we have a handle on what we want, we can start to look at whether what we have and what we’re doing matches up with these ideals. AND, of course, we can do something about it!

This is the VERY BEST VIDEO EVA...if there can be a best.

I thought you were reading my mind. 90% of my closet (my 5 outifts) is BLACK and I am ready for some color.

O.K. I took Earth Mother's advice, and created my vision board using Oprah's Dream Board program. It turned out awesome. Would like to post it here, but so far I am only able to copy it to my desktop. Couldn't even copy to a word page to send. Anyone have any ideas? Would love to hear them if you do! x0x0

Glad you tried the O Dream Board program. Cool huh?

My written vision for 2009 was to eat more live foods. I will be writing out my 2010 vision over the weekend. My ultimate goal is to reach 100% raw by the end of 2010. I am very happy with the progress I've made in '09. I've lost 25lbs since 1/1/09 & I don't need my rescue inhaler UNLESS I eat too much cheese pizza. I reduced my dose of paxil from 30mg to 15mg & will continue weaning myself off. That's when I will be 100% medication free!! I also will lose the last 20lbs or so I need to be at my ideal weight. Most of all, I will continue to eat & be healthy.

Whatever your vision is.... it's a marathon....not a sprint!!
I love this idea of vision board! I been working on mine. I 'm so excited for 2010! :-)
In 2010, I will reach my goal weight, reverse my vitamin def., and wear a BIKINI for the first time in my life. I'm starting a body challenge on Jan. 17th for 8 weeks. It's kinda like the biggest loser contest done locally. Of course my diet will be of raw foods vs. the diet they recommend. Here I GO!!!

Penni, I loved this sooo much. You are a kindred spirit, missie. I feel so inspired to do this...next week when I have some time to myself. I am a bit older than you and our kids are all raised and I have to say my husband and I have been having so much fun reconnecting. We were just saying the other day how young love is great, but mature love is even better. We are going on our 31 st year of marriage and happier than ever. Love you much, and I'll share my vision board when I finish it. You are such a great coach!
